Pastor and Evangelist Nicholson

It is not all about me, but all about God!

Beverly A. Nicholson is a God-fearing woman who learned from her childhood that God keeps His promises.  She is the oldest daughter of the Late Bishop Willie J. and Mother Sarah V. Bynum; the third child of 11; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.  She is married to District Elder (Pastor) James E. Nicholson, Sr., her husband of over 30 years and the love of her life.

While growing up, Beverly observed how God blessed those who kept His Word.  Her former pastor, the Late Bishop W. F. Lamb, preached about remaining in the Lord and avoiding the devil’s tricks.  When she witnessed some of the congregants disobeying their teachings and the consequences they suffered, she was determined to stay in God’s will as much as possible. Through the instructions of her parents, church mothers, evangelists, associate ministers, Sunday School teachers, and other spiritual leaders, she accepted Jesus as her Savior at age 14, was baptized in Jesus’ name by her father as a teenager and received the Holy Spirit according to the Holy Bible.

God allowed her to graduate from colleges, obtained eight degrees, including three masters (Master of Business Administration, Hampton University, Hampton, VA; Master of Public Administration, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA; Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling, Regent University, VA); an advanced certificate beyond the Master Degree in Conflict Resolution and other certifications in personal finances, suicide prevention, prevention of sexual harassment/sexual assault; professional speaking and training, teaching face-to-face and online, just to name a few.  She is a life-time learner who is serious about putting God first and allowing Him to orchestrate her life. She served as an executive, an assistant professor, a facilitator, a community leader, a trainer, a crisis hotline worker, a public speaker, and an avid worker in her church.  She also served for three years as the human services program chair for the community college where she taught for nearly seven years.

She is the mother of four married adult children and grandmother of 11.  She enjoys working with her husband, praising and worshiping God, spending time with her family, reading, writing, learning, traveling, using creativity to engage in problem-solving, planning special events, and encouraging everyone to live for Him because it pays off.  In 2019, she achieved the goal of visiting all of the 50 states in the United States of America,  “To God be the glory for the things that He has done.”
